The Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District operates the bookstore at East Library and Penrose Library. These bookstores are mainly stocked with used book donations and staffed by volunteers. Most community libraries have a bookstore operated by that PPLD Library's Friends group and are open whenever that library is open. .

Friends of the Pikes Peak Library District receive a 20% discount on most books at the bookstores.
